Alia Kache
 
 

Alia Kache, a native of Chattanooga, TN, received her early training at Center for Creative Arts and Chattanooga Ballet. She graduated from the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University BFA program in 2004, and subsequently joined Ailey II. In addition to performing choreography by renowned choreographers like Alvin Ailey and William Forsythe, Alia has performed with companies such as Nathan Trice/RITUALS, Pilobolus (Creative Services), and CeDeCe Companhia de Dança Contemporanea, (Alcobaça, Portugal). She was an assistant to Sarita Allen, choreographer of the 2006/2007 North American Tour of AIDA, and appeared as a featured dancer in the production. She was also a swing on the national tour of Disney’s The Lion King (Gazelle Company).

Her film and commercial credits include Laurie Simon’s Music of Regret – Act III (Pocket Watch); Radio City Christmas Spectacular 75th Anniversary DVD (ensemble); and Cordoniu Navidad 2007.

Alia has developed choreography for Girls Preparatory School, Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts, Chattanooga Ballet, The Ailey School, Renegade Performance Group, Cister Musica, contestants of the Miss Tennessee and Miss Georgia pageants (Miss America Organization), as well as benefits for Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids and The Helping Hands Campaign.

Currently, Alia is the rehearsal director for Ailey II, under the artistic direction of Troy Powell, and teaching master classes across the US and Europe.
